Discord Reddit Notifications
If your community follows a subreddit or a specific Reddit user together, VeyroBot regularly reads Reddit's public post feed; when a new post appears, it posts an embed with the title, a text summary and a small thumbnail if available to the Discord channel you chose, and can mention a role. No Reddit account or API key is needed.
Subreddit or user
Enter a subreddit as 'r/subreddit' or a username as 'u/username'; VeyroBot reads that account's public post feed.
Checked within Reddit's own rate limit
Reddit's public feeds allow a limited number of requests, so each follow is checked at most every 10 minutes (unlike the per-minute check on most platforms). If Reddit temporarily rate-limits requests, the bot waits at least 15 minutes, or longer if Reddit announces a longer wait, and retries.
Posted in order
Each check reads the latest 5 posts in the feed; new ones among them are posted oldest to newest (up to 3 per round), and the rest follow in the same order on the next round. In very busy feeds where more than 5 posts appear between two checks, the ones in between may not be announced.
Role mention or your own text
The default notification can mention a role. If you write your own text (up to 1,000 characters), it replaces the default; {streamer} becomes the subreddit or username, {url} the post link and {title} the post title.
Who it’s for
Servers following a specific subreddit or Reddit user together, and moderators tired of scanning for new posts by hand.
Who it’s not for
Not a fit for anyone expecting instant (seconds-level) notifications — due to Reddit's rate limit, checks happen at most every 10 minutes, slower than most other platforms.
Setup in 3 steps
-
1
Add the bot to your server
Open the invite link above, pick your server and approve the permissions. The bot comes online within seconds.
-
2
Add the subreddit or user
Dashboard → your server → Reddit Notifications: enter the target as 'r/subreddit' or 'u/username', pick the announcement channel and an optional role, then press Add Notification Follow. The /streamalert add command does the same and requires Manage Server.
-
3
Check the permission and wait
The bot needs permission to send messages in the announcement channel. The first check runs within a few minutes; due to Reddit's rate limit, the follow is refreshed at most every 10 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Why is this checked every 10 minutes instead of every minute like Twitch?
Reddit's public feeds have a low rate limit; checking every minute would hit that limit quickly and could stop notifications entirely. A 10-minute interval stays within the limit and keeps the follow running reliably.
Is an old post shared when I add the subreddit?
No. When a new follow is added, the posts already in the feed are only marked as seen, none are announced. Only posts shared after the follow was added reach Discord.
How many subreddits or users can I follow?
Up to 25 Reddit follows per server (subreddit and user follows combined). The same target can't be added twice to the same Discord channel, but it can be added to a different one.
